Editorial Policy

Last updated: May 2026

At The Book Of Stories, one principle guides everything: the reader’s trust is our most valuable asset.

In a world where millions of stories live online, we want every reader who arrives here to know — what you’re reading was written honestly, written thoughtfully, and written with truth.

This page is the document of that honesty.

1. How We Write (Our Editorial Process)

Every story passes through five stages:

Stage 1 — Topic Selection. We choose stories that move readers — mythological, historical, or biographical — over chasing trending topics. Our preference is always for stories that remain relevant over time.

Stage 2 — Research. Before writing, I (Rajhussain Kanani) personally research the topic from multiple sources: original mythological texts (Valmiki Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas), reputable biographies, established publications (The Hindu, BBC Hindi, and similarly verifiable sources), and historical records or academic papers.

Stage 3 — Outline. The complete narrative outline is built by me — what event comes when, why, and how. The skeleton of every story is mine.

Stage 4 — Writing & Editing. I use AI tools (such as Claude) to help generate the first draft. However — every sentence, every emotion, every word is finalized by me. The voice, sensitivity, and cultural context of every story are mine.

Stage 5 — Fact-Check & Publish. Each story is reviewed once more before publishing. Every date, name, place, and event is verified. Only then does it go live.

2. AI Use Disclosure

Readers in 2026 deserve to know how the content they read is made.

What we openly disclose:

  • AI assistance: We use AI tools (primarily Anthropic’s Claude) to assist with first drafts
  • Human editing: Every sentence is finalized by a human editor — Rajhussain Kanani
  • AI illustrations: Most images accompanying stories are AI-generated artworks, because authentic photographs of mythological and ancient historical figures don’t exist

What we never do:

  • We do not copy-paste content from other websites
  • We do not publish unedited AI output
  • We do not write stories purely for traffic — every story is written for the reader’s experience

This transparency matters to us. Trust is built by showing, not hiding.

3. Sources & References

For mythological stories:

  • Valmiki Ramayana
  • Mahabharata as composed by Vedavyasa
  • Shiv Purana, Vishnu Purana, Bhagavata Purana
  • Authoritative translations of respected Sanskrit texts

For biographies:

  • Official autobiographies and biographies
  • Official company websites (Infosys, Wipro, Biocon)
  • Reputable news sources
  • Wikipedia (only as a starting point, never as a primary source)

For historical stories:

  • Books by recognized historians
  • Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) documents
  • Peer-reviewed academic papers

For mythological stories with multiple versions — we choose the most widely accepted and respected version, and where useful, we mention alternative versions at the end of the story.

4. Corrections Policy

We are human. Mistakes can happen.

If you find a factual error in any of our stories — a wrong date, name, or event — please notify us via the Contact page.

Our commitment:

  • Every report will be reviewed within 48 hours
  • If the error is confirmed, it will be corrected immediately
  • For significant corrections, an “Updated:” note will be added to the story
  • For substantial corrections, the reporting reader may be credited with thanks (if they wish)

5. Our Ethical Boundaries

We will never publish content that:

  • Demeans any religion, caste, community, or individual
  • Promotes hate, violence, or discrimination
  • Is unsafe for children
  • Serves as political propaganda
  • Misleads or spreads false information
  • Violates copyright

On mythological stories: Our mythological stories are part of India’s cultural heritage. We write them with respect, in an engaging way, and for everyone — regardless of the reader’s religion or background.

On biographies: We are deeply careful with the dignity of those whose stories we tell. We stay with verified facts, avoid speculation, and where something is disputed, we say so clearly.

6. Ads & Transparency

When advertisements appear on this website, they are served through authorized networks like Google AdSense.

Our commitment:

  • Ads will be clearly distinguishable from content
  • No sponsored content will appear without disclosure
  • Affiliate links, when used, will be clearly marked
  • Your privacy is sacred to us — see our Privacy Policy for details

7. Contact for Editorial Concerns

For any editorial questions, corrections, feedback, or content concerns:

We respond to all genuine editorial communications within 48 hours.
